V-EMS for Mobile WiMax is a Rich Internet Application(RIA), beyond standard FCAPS built with easy-to-use interfaces and provisions to plug-in user defined customizations. It is a Carrier Grade Web Application, already proven. The out-of-the-box development and utility tools available with us simplifies your product development cycle and cost drastically.
Unlike other Element Management System (EMS) topology-management functions, which rely on static maps or geographic information systems (GIS), our EMS provides topographical management with Google Maps which gives an interactive interface which includes panning and zooming.EMS provides geo-accurate network topology that also includes device alarm information and connectivity state automatically.
NE Hierarchy on Maps
V-EMS is provisioned to view all the Network Elements and the Logical Entities on Google Maps. Google Maps is shown at various Zoom Levels for better view.
Network View On Map
Network View provides a clear view of the various Zones the V-EMS Application controls. The color code of the Zone Overlay on the Map corresponds to the standard alarm Severity color codes .The first look at the Maps, gives a clear picture about the Zone which require immediate attention for resolution.
ASN View On Map
A particular Zone is zoomed in to view the ASN under the Zone. The ASN marker’s color code corresponds to the severity level of the ASN. The ASNs are launched on the Map based on the specified Geographical Latitude/Longitude point.
Custom Toolbar
VV-EMS provides a customized toolbar on Google Maps for additional features and controls on Maps which comprises of
- Refresh Map – to refresh the Map
- ASN Filter/Selection – select an ASN from the drop-down list, under the zoomed in Zone
- Cell Filter/Selection –select a Cell from the drop down list to launch BTS.
- Zoom In/Zoom Out – zooming in and out on the Map
- Network View – to launch the initial Network view on map
BTS View On Map
On selection of a Cell (Logical Entity), the BaseStations are shown on Map. The color of the BTS corresponds to the severity of the BaseStation.
Sector View On Map
The various Sectors under a BTS are shown On Map. The view of NE’s on Google Maps in the V-EMS application eases the monitoring of the NE’s.
Properties of Active Sectors
V-EMS caters to the view of the Active Sectors Properties, their range and network traffic, alarms on Google Maps. The features are
- Topology view of the sector selected on Maps
- Provision to view/hide the Range of the Sector
- Provision to view the Alarm Summary of the selected Sector
- Provision to view the Network Traffic status of Sector
Alarm Severity Escalation on Maps
The severity of the Alarms is highlighted with various color codes. When an alarm/trap is triggered for a sector or an ASN, the alarm severity of that sector or the ASN is changed based on the severity level. The change of the alarm severity is triggered on the map with a color change in the BTS and the same is escalated to the top most nodes.
